IBM Accessibility Toolkit 2.0

ui/ux 2021

providing tools and guidance to help people, especially
designers, understand how they can handoff accessible
designs for implementation, and why accessibility matters
ibm.com/able/toolkit/design

through multiple user feedback sessions on the existing toolkit,
three key insights surfaced that needed to be addressed:

1. designers prefer visuals over text
2. designers have a hard time digesting technical guidance
3. designers want guidance in their work environment

these insights led to the following deliverables:

1. 157 visual examples created to pair with text

2. reduced and simplified guidance from 121 to 54 accordion topics

3. an accessibility kit with tasks, bite-sized guidance, and handoff assets
